200W JPT M7 MOPA Fiber Laser for Industrial Engraving

Why This Is the Industrial Workhorse Production Shops Buy

The 200W M7 doubles the deep engraving speed of a 100W machine and triples that of a 60W, turning marking jobs that used to be a bottleneck into background production. The JPT M-version source uses imported seed and pump diodes for the long-term beam stability that real production shops require, not the cost-cut components found in entry-level fiber lasers. And because the M7 series has been in continuous production refinement for years, every component on this machine is field-proven, meaning fewer surprises during commissioning and a longer service life from the day it arrives.

This is the right machine for shops that need serious 200W production power without paying for glass drilling capability. If your work is metals only, deep engraving, color marking, jewelry production, firearms work, or any other application that does not involve transparent materials, the 200W M7 delivers everything you need at a meaningfully lower price than the 200W M8.

The system is built around the JPT M-version M7 MOPA source (YDFLP-200-M7-M-R), paired with a Sino-Galvo SG2206 high-speed scanning head with dual red dot positioning, motorized 500mm Z-axis tower for tall workpieces, EZCAD Original software (not the Lite version), and full LightBurn compatibility. Every component is selected for sustained production work, not weekend hobby use.

At the heart of the machine is a robust, industrial JPT source: a 24.8 kg module rated for more than 200W of average power and 1.5 mJ of pulse energy, with a 5 m delivery cable, anti reflection protection and full air cooling. It is built to run long production shifts day after day, which is exactly what high volume engraving, marking and thin cutting demand.

Watch It Work: Cutting 925 Sterling Silver

A customer cut heart pendants from 0.8 mm and 1 mm 925 sterling silver with the 200W JPT M7. In their own words: "Whoohaaa, this was really fast." The hearts come out clean and only need polishing.

  • Material: 925 silver, 0.8 mm and 1 mm
  • Frequency 240 kHz, pulse width 200 ns, power 90%
  • Speed 300, wobble 0.05 / 0.1
  • 10 to 12 loops per piece
Built for Throughput

Five Reasons This Is the Smart 200W Choice

1

200W of Real Production Throughput

The JPT M7 200W source delivers twice the average power of a 100W machine, which translates directly into faster deep engraving cycles and the ability to handle thin metal cutting jobs in the same machine. A deep mark that takes 6 minutes on a 100W finishes in roughly 3 minutes here. Across daily production volume, that adds up to hours of saved labor every shift.

2

JPT M-Version Source for Long-Term Reliability

The M-version of the JPT M7 series uses imported seed and pump diodes from suppliers in Canada and France, the highest internal grade JPT offers for the M7 line. These components deliver the long-term beam stability and continuous-duty endurance that 24/7 production environments demand. Seed source quality directly affects beam consistency over thousands of operating hours, which is why production shops specify M-version over E or E2 grades.

3

SG2206 Sino-Galvo Head with Dual Red Dot Alignment

The included Sino-Galvo SG2206 high-speed scanning head uses two red light pointers that converge precisely at the focal point. When the dots overlap on your workpiece surface, the laser is focused. No focus gauge needed, no trial and error. The SG2206 delivers 99.9% linearity, marking speeds up to 6,000 mm per second, and step response under 288 microseconds for crisp pulse delivery.

4

Motorized 500mm Z-Tower for Production Flexibility

The full 500mm motorized Z-axis tower lets you process tall workpieces, mounting fixtures, and varied production batches that fixed-height fiber lasers cannot accommodate. Button-controlled travel means no manual cranking, and the motorized positioning gives repeatable focus heights when switching between different parts. Practical for production shops running diverse jobs.

5

EZCAD Original Software with Full Production Features

This machine ships with the complete original EZCAD controller and software, not the limited Lite version included with budget fiber lasers. You get every feature for production work: full MOPA pulse width and frequency control, batch processing, automatic counters, barcode and QR generation, and photo grayscale conversion. LightBurn compatibility on Windows, macOS, and Linux is also included for users who prefer that workflow.

Pulse Width and Full Power Frequency

A MOPA source reaches its full 200W only above a certain frequency for each pulse width, called the cut off frequency. Above it you get full average power. Below it the source keeps its peak power and the average power drops. These values come from the JPT manual for the YDFLP-200-M7-M-R. Download it with the button next to the SKU, or open the JPT M7 200W datasheet (PDF).

What Production Buyers Ask

The Real-World Concerns Already Handled

Production shop owners do not buy fiber lasers based on marketing copy. They buy based on practical concerns about getting the machine working, keeping it running, and not getting stuck if something fails. Here are the issues we have already addressed.

Setup Time and Out-of-Box Experience
Pre-assembled and pre-tested at the factory. The air-cooled system needs only a power cord and a USB connection to your computer. EZCAD installs from a USB drive that ships with the machine. Most production buyers are running their first job within two hours of opening the crate. No installation technician required.
LightBurn Compatibility
Recognized natively by LightBurn galvo mode. The JCZ control board is fully compatible with LightBurn on Windows, macOS, and Linux. No driver tricks, no licensing workarounds. Use EZCAD Original or LightBurn or both, switching between them whenever you want.
Hidden Customs and Import Fees
The price you see is the total cost. DDP shipping to the US, Canada, and EU includes all customs duties, import taxes, and brokerage fees. Zero additional cost when the freight company delivers. No surprise invoices weeks later.
Service and Replacement Parts
3 years of full coverage with shipping included. Failed non-source components ship to you free with no return required. Source or galvo defects are repaired or replaced through warranty with all freight covered. After the warranty period, lifetime email support continues.
Whether 200W M7 or 200W M8 Is Right
Glass drilling is the only meaningful difference. If your work is metals, plastics, painted surfaces, or any opaque material, choose the 200W M7. If glass drilling or 2.5D mold cavity work is part of your business, choose the 200W M8 instead. Both are excellent at metal work.
Power Requirements for the Workshop
Standard single phase power works fine. The complete system runs on 110V to 240V, 50 to 60 Hz single phase. The JPT source itself draws less than 800W from its 48V DC supply, so no three phase electrical service is required.
Honest Comparison

200W M7 vs 200W M8 - Which One You Should Choose

Both are 200W flagship-class machines from Haotian, both use JPT MOPA technology, and both deliver industrial-grade build quality. The decision between them comes down to one specific question: do you need to process glass?

Price PositionLower than M8Premium for glass capability

The 200W M7 is the smart choice for the majority of production shops because the majority of fiber laser work is on metals. You only pay the M8 premium if glass drilling is a genuine business requirement. If glass capability sits on a "would be nice" list rather than an "essential" list, the 200W M7 puts that money back in your pocket.

Detailed Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What does YDFLP-200-M7-M-R mean exactly?

This is the official JPT model code for the laser source inside this machine. YDFLP stands for Ytterbium Doped Fiber Laser Pulse. The 200 is the average output power in watts. M7 is the series. The first M is the M-version designation indicating the highest internal grade with imported seed and pump diodes. The R indicates a built-in red guide laser. Knowing the exact source code matters for warranty claims and parts ordering, so we publish it openly.

How does dual red dot focus work?

The Sino-Galvo SG2206 head projects two red light beams that are angled to converge at the exact focal point of the laser. When you raise or lower the Z-axis, the two dots move toward each other or apart on the workpiece surface. When the two dots overlap into a single point on your part, the laser is precisely focused. This is faster and more accurate than using a focus gauge or trial-and-error focusing, especially when switching between batches of different-height parts.

What is the difference between EZCAD Original and EZCAD Lite?

EZCAD Lite ships with budget fiber laser machines and has limited file format support, no advanced job automation, and reduced parameter control. EZCAD Original (included with this machine) is the full software with every feature for production work: complete file format support, MOPA pulse width and frequency control, batch processing, automatic counters, barcode and QR generation, photo grayscale conversion, and production-grade job queuing. Production shops need the original.

Can the 200W M7 cut sheet metal?

Up to about 2 mm thickness on materials like brass, aluminum, copper, and thin steel, depending on the alloy and the type of air assist used. This is a galvo marking laser, not a dedicated sheet metal cutter. For production cutting of sheets thicker than 2 mm or larger work areas, our CNC fiber laser cutters from 1500W to 6000W are the right tool. The 200W M7 handles marking, deep engraving, and occasional thin cutting in one machine.

How is the 200W M7 cooled?

The 200W JPT M7 is fully air cooled, like every model in the JPT M7 range. The source uses built in fans whose speed follows the room temperature, so no chiller is needed. Leave at least 10 cm of free space in front of and behind the source, and run it between 0 and 40 °C, ideally 10 to 30 °C.

Does color marking on stainless steel work the same as on smaller M7 machines?

Yes. The 200W M7 is a full MOPA laser with pulse width from 2 to 500 ns and frequency from 1 to 4000 kHz. It has 15 standard waveforms from 9 to 500 ns plus CW, and the very short 2, 4 and 6 ns pulses run at reduced power. Most color settings from smaller M7 machines transfer with small adjustments, and the 200W simply produces colors faster on larger jobs. Full color on stainless steel and titanium plus black marking on anodized aluminum are available.

Should I buy the 200W M7 or wait and save for the 350W M7?

The honest answer depends on your production volume. The 200W is sufficient for the vast majority of production fiber laser work. The 350W M7 earns its premium when you have so much volume that you need to cut another 30 to 40 percent off cycle times across thousands of parts per day. For most shops adding their first or second high-power machine, the 200W M7 is the right level. Upgrade later if your volume grows.

How fast does delivery take?

Approximately 30 days to the US, Canada, and EU using free DDP shipping with all customs duties included in the price. Faster CIF shipping at approximately 12 days is available worldwide. The machine is built to order at our factory, so production lead time is included in those windows. Full tracking is provided once the machine ships.
