This is the official JPT model code for the laser source inside this machine. YDFLP stands for Ytterbium Doped Fiber Laser Pulse. The 200 is the average output power in watts. M7 is the series. The first M is the M-version designation indicating the highest internal grade with imported seed and pump diodes. The R indicates a built-in red guide laser. Knowing the exact source code matters for warranty claims and parts ordering, so we publish it openly.

The Sino-Galvo SG2206 head projects two red light beams that are angled to converge at the exact focal point of the laser. When you raise or lower the Z-axis, the two dots move toward each other or apart on the workpiece surface. When the two dots overlap into a single point on your part, the laser is precisely focused. This is faster and more accurate than using a focus gauge or trial-and-error focusing, especially when switching between batches of different-height parts.

EZCAD Lite ships with budget fiber laser machines and has limited file format support, no advanced job automation, and reduced parameter control. EZCAD Original (included with this machine) is the full software with every feature for production work: complete file format support, MOPA pulse width and frequency control, batch processing, automatic counters, barcode and QR generation, photo grayscale conversion, and production-grade job queuing. Production shops need the original.

Up to about 2 mm thickness on materials like brass, aluminum, copper, and thin steel, depending on the alloy and the type of air assist used. This is a galvo marking laser, not a dedicated sheet metal cutter. For production cutting of sheets thicker than 2 mm or larger work areas, our CNC fiber laser cutters from 1500W to 6000W are the right tool. The 200W M7 handles marking, deep engraving, and occasional thin cutting in one machine.

At average output power above approximately 100W, air cooling cannot dissipate the thermal load fast enough during continuous production operation. At 200W, active liquid cooling is required to keep the JPT laser source within its optimal thermal operating range. The included industrial water chiller circulates coolant through the laser source, removing heat efficiently and preventing the thermal drift that would degrade beam quality during long production runs.

Yes. The 200W M7 is a full MOPA laser with adjustable pulse width from 2 to 500 nanoseconds, the identical range as 60W and 100W M7 machines. Color marking parameters that work on a smaller M7 also work here. The 200W just produces colors faster and lets you tackle larger color marking jobs in less time. The full color spectrum on stainless steel and titanium is available, plus black annealing on anodized aluminum.

The honest answer depends on your production volume. The 200W is sufficient for the vast majority of production fiber laser work. The 350W M7 earns its premium when you have so much volume that you need to cut another 30 to 40 percent off cycle times across thousands of parts per day. For most shops adding their first or second high-power machine, the 200W M7 is the right level. Upgrade later if your volume grows.
