1390 CO2 Laser Cutter (HT-1390) - 90W to 150W RECI Tube
Three Power Options on the Same Frame
Pick the tube power that matches your cutting throughput. The frame, bed size, controller, chiller, optics, motion system, and every other component are identical across all three variants. Only the laser tube and matching power supply change between options.
| Variant | RECI Tube | Rated / Peak Power | Tube Length | Best For | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 90W to 100W | RECI W2 | 90W rated, 100W peak | 1240 mm | Acrylic, leather, signage shops | $7,000 |
| 100W to 130W | RECI W4 | 100W rated, 130W peak | 1450 mm | Wood furniture, thicker MDF | $7,250 |
| 130W to 150W | RECI W6 | 130W rated, 150W peak | 1650 mm | Production cutting, thick stock | $7,450 |
Power figures are direct from RECI's published specifications. RECI guarantees the rated power on every tube and most tubes reach the peak figure in actual use. Source: RECI W series datasheet.
Hardware That Earns the Price
This is not a budget 1390 with unbranded components. Every part of the build is documented and identifiable.
Five Things This Machine Does That Most 1390s Do Not
Pass-Through Doors for Long Stock
Front and rear pass-through doors let you load material longer than the bed. Cut a 2 meter wood plank in two passes by sliding it forward between cuts. Most 1390 cutters at this price point are closed boxes. Pass-through opens up signage, banner stock, long furniture parts, and architectural panels without needing a larger machine.
WiFi Job Transfer
Send jobs to the machine over WiFi from your design computer. No USB stick walks across the shop. The Ruida 6445G controller queues files, displays job progress, and supports remote start from the controller panel. Particularly useful if your design station is in an office and the laser is in a separate workshop.
Camera Positioning Built In
The 6445G comes with a camera mounted above the bed. The controller overlays your design onto a live view of the bed, so you can drop a piece of stock anywhere and place the cut path exactly on it. This is the difference between making jigs for every job and just placing the part and pressing start. Major time saver on engraving over irregular shapes.
Removable Legs for Tight Doorways
The leg assembly is bolt-on, not welded. If your shop doorway is narrower than the machine, the legs come off in minutes and the body slides through. Reattaching is straightforward with hand tools. This single decision has saved several customers from a return shipment when the standard 1390 footprint will not fit through their entrance.
Door Open Safety Switch
The lid is wired to a safety interlock. Open the door mid-job and the laser firing pauses. Close the door, the job resumes. This is a basic safety feature that many cheaper imports skip entirely. It protects your eyes, your hands, and anyone walking into the workshop while a job is running.

What This Machine Cannot Do
Honest disclosure section
Every laser is the right tool for some jobs and the wrong tool for others. The 1390 CO2 cutter handles non-metallic sheet material at production scale, but it has real limits.
- Cannot mark or cut bare metals. CO2 wavelength reflects off bare stainless, aluminum, brass, copper, and titanium. Use a fiber laser for metal work.
- Cannot drill or cut glass. CO2 frosts the surface of glass acceptably for decoration. For through holes or precise glass cuts, only the JPT M8 fiber series can drill glass.
- Cannot cut PVC safely. PVC releases chlorine gas when cut with a CO2 laser. The gas damages your optics, corrodes the machine, and harms operator health. Do not cut PVC on this or any laser.
- Not a replacement for a CNC sheet metal cutter. The 1390 cuts non-metals only. For sheet metal cutting, see the dedicated CNC fiber laser product line.
- Glass tube has finite life. RECI W series tubes are rated for approximately 10,000 hours under correct cooling and current conditions. Expect to replace the tube as a consumable on a high-volume production schedule.
- Limited 3D capability. The motorized Z-axis sets focus, it does not run live 3D contour cuts. This is a 2D cutter with focal depth adjustment.
Common Buyer Concerns
Will this machine fit through my workshop door?
The standard machine dimensions are 2110 x 1650 x 1150 mm. If your shop entrance is narrower than the machine width, the legs are designed to come off easily for transit. Once the machine body is inside, the legs reattach in minutes. Several customers have specifically chosen this machine over fixed-leg competitors for exactly this reason.
Which power tier should I order?
If you mostly cut acrylic, leather, paper, fabric, and thin wood up to 5 mm, the 90W W2 is enough. If you cut MDF, plywood, and solid wood between 5 mm and 12 mm regularly, step up to the 130W W4. If you run thick stock above 12 mm or you need maximum production throughput, take the 150W W6.
What about the cheaper machines I see online for under $4,000?
Cheaper 1390-style machines typically use unbranded glass tubes with lower beam mode quality, generic stepper motors instead of Leadshine, lighter casing instead of 2.0 mm steel, and either no chiller or a hobby-grade plastic unit. The PMI linear guides alone are worth a meaningful percentage of the price difference. Genuine RECI tubes deliver rated power for thousands of hours where unbranded tubes can fade in months.
How long does the RECI tube last in real use?
RECI publishes 10,000 hours as the MTTF figure for W series tubes when the operating current stays at or below 24 mA. Above 26 mA the lifespan drops. Above 28 mA the tube can fail quickly. The Ruida controller logs current draw, so this is something you can monitor across the tube's life.
Do I need three-phase power?
No. The 1390 runs on standard single-phase 110V or 220V at 50 / 60 Hz with ±10% tolerance. Specify your voltage when ordering. The chiller power requirement is included in the total. Operating temperature range is 5 C to 35 C, so a normal heated or unheated workshop is fine.
How does the camera positioning actually help me?
The camera sits above the bed and sends a live image to the Ruida controller and software. Drop a piece of stock anywhere on the bed, draw your design over the camera image, and the laser cuts exactly where you placed it. No fixturing, no math, no test cuts to verify alignment. For engraving over irregular pieces or running parts on offcut stock, this saves serious setup time.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the actual difference between the W2, W4, and W6 tubes beyond power?
The W series tubes increase in physical length and aperture as power goes up. The W2 is 1240 mm long, the W4 is 1450 mm long, and the W6 is 1650 mm long. Larger length means a larger gas volume at higher pressure, which is what enables more output. RECI also assigns them different power supplies. The W2 ships with a DY13 supply and the W4 and W6 ship with a DY20 supply. Beyond that, all three use the same TEM00 above 95% beam mode and the same 10,600 nm wavelength, so cut quality at equivalent settings is comparable. The higher-power tubes simply cut faster or cut thicker.
Why is the marketed power range 90 to 100W and not just 90W?
RECI tubes have a rated power and a peak power. The W2 is rated at 90W and peaks at 100W. RECI guarantees the rated power on every tube and most tubes reach somewhere between rated and peak in actual use. We market the range honestly because it reflects what you can expect to see at the cutting head. Some marketing on competing machines lists only the peak power, which is misleading.
Can the 1390 engrave as well as cut?
Yes. The same machine handles raster engraving on wood, leather, acrylic, anodized aluminum (coating removal only), and many other CO2-compatible materials. Maximum engraving speed is 1000 mm/s with locating precision below 0.01 mm. The minimum shaping character is 2 x 2 mm and minimum letter is 1 x 1 mm. For dedicated high-speed engraving on small parts, a CO2 galvo machine is faster because it scans with a mirror system instead of moving a gantry. The 1390 is the right machine when your work needs cutting and engraving on the same large flat material.
Does the price include the chiller, rotary, and accessories?
Yes. The S&A CW-5200 industrial chiller, chuck rotary attachment, both worktables (honeycomb and aluminum blade), 012 air pump, 550W exhaust fan, and all standard tooling are included in the listed price for all three variants. You do not need to purchase or source any of this separately. Software is RDWorks at no charge, with optional LightBurn license sold separately by LightBurn Software.
How does the WiFi function actually work?
The Ruida 6445G has a built-in WiFi module that joins your shop's wireless network. From RDWorks or LightBurn on your design computer, you can send the job file to the controller over the network and start the job from the machine's panel. No USB stick. Particularly useful when the design computer and the laser are in different rooms. The USB port still works as a backup if WiFi is unavailable.
What is the lead time and how does shipping work?
For United States, Canada, and European Union buyers, shipping is free DDP. Total time from order to delivery is approximately 30 days. DDP means we cover all import duties and customs handling. For other regions, we ship CIF with all import duties paid by the buyer. CIF transit is approximately 12 to 14 days plus your local customs clearance time. The machine ships crated and palletized for freight forwarder delivery.
How does the auto-focus work?
The motorized Z-axis sits on a thick brass lead screw, not a budget threaded rod. The auto focus routine lowers the laser head until a contact probe touches the material surface, then raises the head by the focal distance of the lens. The result is the laser focus sits exactly on the surface every time without manually inserting a focus gauge. You set the focal distance once for each lens you use and the controller remembers it.
Can I use the rotary for tumblers and bottles?
Yes. The included chuck rotary mounts inside the bed and is recognized by the Ruida controller automatically. It handles glass bottles, wood mugs, leather sleeves, and large cups. For tumbler-scale production work specifically, a dedicated CO2 galvo machine is generally faster because the galvo scanning head moves at higher speeds than a gantry. The 1390 with rotary is the better choice when you need both occasional cylindrical work and large flat sheet cutting on the same machine.
