200W JPT M8 MOPA Fiber Laser
The 200W JPT M8 is our flagship industrial fiber laser and one of the most capable marking machines in the world. Powered by the latest generation JPT M8 MOPA laser source with peak power exceeding 100kW and beam quality M2 under 1.5, this machine handles applications that simply cannot be done with lower power or older generation lasers.
The M8 was engineered specifically for the most demanding processing tasks. With its high peak power and superior beam brightness, the 200W M8 can do something no standard fiber laser can: drill into glass. Combined with our G3 PRO 2.5D galvo head and EZCad3 software, this machine performs layer-by-layer glass drilling, deep metal engraving up to several millimeters, mold cavity carving, and high-speed industrial production marking, all from a single unit.
Every Haotian 200W M8 ships with the G3 PRO 2.5D galvo scanning head with integrated EZCad3 controller, water cooling system, motorized Z-axis lifting pillar for true 2.5D processing, 2 quartz F-theta lenses of your choice, rotary attachment, foot pedal, safety glasses, and a fixed aluminum worktable. The 100% aluminum machine body is built for years of continuous industrial production.
💎 The Only Fiber Laser That Can Drill Glass
Standard fiber lasers cannot drill or process glass. The infrared wavelength simply passes through transparent materials without interaction. The JPT M8 changes this. With peak power exceeding 100kW and ultra-short pulse capability (down to 6 nanoseconds), the M8 can vaporize glass at the focal point, layer by layer, when paired with the G3 PRO 2.5D galvo and EZCad3 software. This is the only fiber laser configuration on the market capable of true glass drilling. If you need to drill or deep-engrave glass commercially, this is the machine.
G3 PRO 2.5D Galvo with Integrated EZCad3
The G3 PRO is a specialized 2.5D galvo scanning head built specifically for precision deep engraving and micro-hole processing. What makes it different from standard galvo heads is the built-in EZCad3 controller board integrated directly inside the scanner housing. This means the marking control system and the scanner are a single unit, eliminating signal latency and providing tighter synchronization between the laser, the galvo mirrors, and the motorized Z-axis lifting pillar.
EZCad2 is the standard 2D galvo software used by most fiber laser machines (including our 60W and 100W models). It is excellent for flat marking, color marking, and shallow engraving on flat surfaces.
EZCad3 is the next generation software with full 2.5D support. It controls the motorized Z-axis lifting pillar to perform layer-by-layer deep engraving, glass drilling, mold cavity carving, and 3D relief work. The 200W M8 uses EZCad3 because the G3 PRO galvo has the controller built in.
What This Machine Can Do

Why the JPT M8 is the Latest Generation
The JPT M8 is the next-generation MOPA fiber laser source from JPT. It builds on the M7 architecture with optimizations for pulse peak power and beam quality, specifically targeted at the most demanding applications including glass drilling. Here is what changes between M7 and M8.
| Feature | JPT M7 (Previous Gen) | JPT M8 (Latest Gen, This Machine) |
|---|---|---|
| Architecture | MOPA | MOPA (optimized) |
| Beam Quality (M2) | Less than 1.6 | Less than 1.5 |
| Peak Power Optimization | Standard MOPA peak power | Optimized for higher peak power |
| Glass Drilling | Not capable | Capable (with G3 PRO and EZCad3) |
| Cooling at 200W | Air or water (model dependent) | Water cooled |
| Maximum Power Available | Up to 350W | Up to 300W (this 200W is the sweet spot) |
| Best For | General fiber laser applications | Demanding applications and glass drilling |
For most fiber laser work the M7 and M8 produce similar results. The M8 advantage shows up in three specific areas: glass and other transparent materials (where M8 can drill, M7 cannot), high-precision micro-hole drilling, and applications that benefit from M2 beam quality below 1.5.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. With the G3 PRO 2.5D galvo and EZCad3 software, the 200W M8 can drill holes and perform deep engraving on glass. The motorized Z-axis lifting pillar lowers the focus point layer by layer as material is removed, producing clean holes with controlled depth. This works on borosilicate glass, soda lime glass, and quartz. Standard fiber lasers cannot do this because the infrared wavelength normally passes through transparent materials. The M8 succeeds because of its peak power exceeding 100kW and short pulse capability.
EZCad2 is the standard 2D galvo software. It controls flat marking, color marking, and shallow engraving on flat surfaces. EZCad3 is the next generation software with full 2.5D support. It controls the motorized Z-axis lifting pillar to perform layer-by-layer deep engraving, glass drilling, mold cavity carving, and 3D relief work. The G3 PRO galvo on this machine has the EZCad3 controller built into the scanner housing.
Both use MOPA technology with adjustable pulse width and frequency. The M8 is the newer generation with improved beam quality (M2 less than 1.5 vs less than 1.6 on M7) and optimized peak power output. For most fiber laser work the results are similar. The M8 advantage shows up in glass drilling, micro-hole processing, and applications that benefit from the higher peak power and brightness.
At 200W average output power, heat dissipation requires active liquid cooling for stable continuous operation. Air cooling is sufficient up to about 100W. At higher powers, water cooling keeps the laser source at optimal temperature, preventing thermal drift and ensuring consistent beam quality during long production runs. The industrial water chiller is included with the machine.
Yes, this machine cuts thin metal sheets up to about 2mm depending on material. It cuts faster and with cleaner edges than lower power machines. For thicker sheet metal cutting (3mm and above) you should look at our CNC fiber laser cutters which are dedicated cutting machines with cutting heads, assist gas, and large work areas.
Yes. The machine is LightBurn compatible. EZCad3 is the included software for full 2.5D processing including glass drilling and deep engraving with motorized Z-axis. LightBurn handles standard 2D galvo work.
All metals (stainless steel, carbon steel, tool steel, aluminum, brass, copper, titanium, gold, silver, platinum, tungsten, chrome, nickel, alloys), glass (with G3 PRO 2.5D), hard plastics (ABS, POM, nylon), painted and coated metals, anodized aluminum, hardened tool steel for molds, ceramics, granite, marble, slate, and brick.
If you only need surface marking, color marking, or shallow engraving, then yes, 200W is more than you need and our 60W EM7 at $4,400 or 100W M7 at $6,900 are better value. The 200W M8 is for customers who need glass drilling, deep mold cavity work, very fast deep engraving production, thin metal cutting at higher speeds, or industrial 24/7 production. If you need any of those, this is the right machine.
